Michael Cross, LPC

Michael is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is trained and educated in working with adults, adolescents, couples and families, specifically those that are in or from “blended” families and those suffering from the pain of divorce. Michael experienced two divorces in his childhood and has been a part of three different blended families growing up, which is where his interest in the field of psychology and family systems got its spark. He serves in the youth and worship ministry at his church and enjoys working with adolescent males (particularly ages 12 and up). Michael does a lot work in cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, pastoral care, and sex addiction. He has a sincere desire to promote healthy relational patterns and individual well-being into all his clients. Michael has counseled persons experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, sex addiction, and adjustment disorder. His therapeutic approach seeks to help the individual and the family set appropriate boundaries in their lives, teach appropriate and healthy communication skills in relationships, challenge negative thinking, and install hope into all his clients.

Whether it’s just communication difficulties, inability to connect, infidelity, and past emotional baggage, marriage counseling can help you find the joy and pleasure of marriage once again.

Family Counseling

Family Therapy is designed to address specific issues that affect the mental, emotional, and relational health of the family, such as major life transitions to problematic family relationships. We seek to promote understanding and collaboration among family members in order to usher healthier patterns into the concerns found within the family system.

Addiction Counseling

Addiction Counseling means finding freedom. Whether its freedom from substances, alcohol, sexual addictions, or destructive habits, freedom can be experienced when you choose to not do this fight alone. Allowing a trusted professional to walk alongside you as you seek health and healing, can mean the difference between another relapse or finding victory over addiction.

Blended Families

Blended families are becoming as common as nuclear families. Potentially problematic family issues such as role confusion, boundary confusion, and parenting styles, are highly intensified in blended families. Therapy will bring awareness of what to expect, the common problems experienced, and examine solutions to these difficult issues. Adolescents

Trauma

Trained in various trauma treatments. With these treatment methodologies, Michael can help clients find relief from their traumatic past. He has years of experience working with adults who struggle with childhood trauma, traumas experienced in adulthood, military personnel, emotional and mental abuse, and help for those who have experienced traumatic events.

Faith-Based

Spiritual growth is a major aspect of the human life. We are physical, mental/emotional, & spiritual beings created in God's image. Michael sees faith as the most critical piece to finding true joy, wisdom, and peace in this life. Using faith-based counseling principles, he seeks to help the individual grow in their faith and answer major questions regarding God and their spirtual walk. Michael also has over ten years experience in providing pastoral care for those currently working in ministry.

Cost & Insurances

General cost is $150 per session (60 minutes). If doing private pay, cost can be negotiated.
